The perfect example of form following function. No other watch is easier to read, day or night, period. The Traser gas illumination is unlike any other. The crystal and case will not scratch. I've worn mine daily for a year now and aside from some barely perceptible PVD chipping on the sharper edges the watch looks like the day I bought it. The Ronda 5040b big date movement runs less than 5 seconds a month fast and has a 4 year plus battery life. I only have to reset it every DST change. Ball watches are a bit too clunky and expensive, and Luminox didn't really have what I wanted, while Traser is a well-known brand and met my needs. In the picture the watch is a gunmetal color and quite attractive (black/gray) but in real life it's just solid black and a bit boring, with white hands and numbers and dots. The large date feature compensates for the lack of magnification via the Sapphire crystal, but the 1 is oddly off-set to the right, so that it is barely visible for all dates ranging from 10th through 19th. And the water resistance is only to 100m which means it's OK for swimming and showering but not for anything more serious.BUT - for a general purpose watch it is very acceptable, very comfortable, and easy to live with. I have to get my flashlight up close to the watch to see the date. Another issue is that the second hand is within one of the circles of the chronograph which is small and not illuminated by the tritium. Therefore, I must rely on the stop watch to do a minute timing when I just wanted to be able to keep track with a glance of the second hand and not by using the stopwatch. Other than the date and second hand issue, the tritium illumination is nice. The stop watch is also good and the switch back function is cool to view at night.
