The mother of pearl dial really stands out and certainly adds a nice touch to the look of the watch. The band is a black matte alligator pattern that is rigid and sturdy. I took off one star for two things that personally, I don't like. For one, this watch has luminous hour markers. That may be a benefit for some, however I feel that it takes away from the elegance of the watch and cheapens it a bit. Secondly, The magnifying glass on the date hand is placed under the glass of the watch, rather than on top of it. Again something minor, but also something that takes away from the watch in my opinion. Regardless, I still have received several compliments on this watch and is one of the more elegant pieces in my collection. I would not recommend spending more than 150 dollars on this piece as I feel their is better quality out there, but I do not regret buying this Stuhrling. Overall, a nice, unique watch to dress up with.
