| 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful  Outstanding readability, This review is from: Mondaine Men's Night Vision Sport Watch A669.30308.14SBB - 5 (Watch) This watch has the flat out best, clearest, most readable display of any watch I've ever owned, and that assessment includes one of those less expensive "military" style tritium watches and the alternate Mondaine night vision model with black hands against a white face. This watch is really something special - unique for the price. In ANY light - sunlight, room light, dim light, or total darkness, the watch is never less that instantly, unambiguously readable, without hitting any buttons, even if you happen to forget your reading glasses. And the big date is a major improvement over the typical single-wheel small-numbers date display. I wouldn't have minded a day display as well, but I can't dock it any points for that because it is otherwise so much better at the basic task of just telling you the time than just about all other watches, short of maybe a $3000 Ball watch. I have this same Mondaine watch with a different band that I have paid to send back to Switzerland factory 4 times in the past 2 years. I am still waiting for them (2 months) to send me another "new" one, so I bought a different finish Big Date watch in the mean time. BUT it also had problems with the date window being unreliable, after setting the date, the date would not advance for 26-36 hours so the date is always 1 day or 2 days behind after initially setting it. You will have to reset the date at the end of EVERY month as well because each individual date dial has 10 digits. Also the lens will fog up when exposed to direct sunlight after about 2 weeks. I have another Mondaine watch that doesn't do that, and my wife has this watch in a woman's model that works great. After getting 4 bad watches from the factory, and then having the 5th one fail with the same date problem, Mondaine factory said... Read more |
