The silver-toned hour, minute, and second hands are luminous and easy to see above and below water. They take too much of a beating to justify buying expensive ones. In this instance, I made an exception. However, I'm not an expert or connoisseur on fine watches. I'm just an average man looking for a nice, sturdy watch. I previously used a Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry watch for day to day wear. It's a very simple, classic watch which is well constructed. My biggest complaint with the watch was the lifespan of the leather band but that is easily remedied. Unfortunately, ever since I had the battery changed by a local jewelry shop, it's no longer waterproof (my mistake for not sending it in). Anyway, I was in the market for a new, water-resistant watch would I could wear everyday and intended to stick with Victorinox based on my previous experience. It's disigned to tell you your time of dive with both Bezel and chrono indications. Yes, it's fine for every day time and chrono. But Diving is what its all about. This is an ETA calibre 251.262. Which is an upper level quartz movement. It's deadly accurate, and it's hands are spot on their markings. In the $500 range it's a bargin if it's the kind of watch you are looking for. This is as close as you are going to get to water "PROOF" @ 730.54 lbs/ sq. inch (500M) or 49.69 Atmospheres. Although, I'd have to see it to really believe it...:) And I'm NOT taking it down that far to find out! EDIT: I should mention that although listed as a BLACK face in both the picture and the description, it's really GUN METAL GREY which matches the case and bezel and looks great.
